DESCRIPTION:
* Viswanathan Anand International Chess Hall, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar is the venue.
* According KIIT, the total prize pool of Rs 1.31 crore is the highest in a chess festival in India.
* The event is expected to witness participation from nearly 40 countries, featuring more than 85 international title holders, including 30 Grandmasters (GMs) and 45 International Masters (IMs).
* Competition will be held in three categories.
* Besides, there will be two open blitz tournaments, offering prize fund of Rs 4 lakh each.
* The combined prize pool for Category ‘B’ and Category ‘C’ tournaments is Rs. 72 Lakhs.
* Categrory-A (Rating 1900 & above): 10 Round. Prize money Rs 51 lakh, including Rs 7.5 lakh for the champion.
* Categrory-B (Rating 1899 & below): 9 Round. Prize money Rs 36 lakh, including Rs 4.5 lakh for the champion.
* Categrory-C (Rating 1699 & below): 9 Round. Prize money Rs 36 lakh, including Rs 4.5 lakh for the champion.
