DESCRIPTION:
*     FIH Hockey Pro League is an annual global field hockey competition for both men and women, organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) since 2019.
*     FIH Hockey Pro League was earlier known as the FIH Hockey World League.
*     Top nine countries (both men & women teams) have been competing in the FIH Hockey Pro League since its inception.
*     This will be the fifth edition of the FIH Hockey Pro League and the champion teams of this edition will qualify directly for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026.
*     Since the 2022-23 season, matches are played in mini-tournaments where teams gather in one venue to play two matches against each other.
*     One of the mini-tournaments for the 2023-24 edition will take place at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar and Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, Rourkela.
*     Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha will be the host of this mini-tournament.
*     The Odisha mini-tournament will take place from February 3 to 25.
*     The Indian women team, led by Savita Punia, will be making their comeback to the FIH Pro League.
*     They will take on the USA, Netherlands, China and Australia at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar between February 3 to 9 followed by their debut at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela between 12 to 18 February.
*     Indian women team will not only be making their comeback to the Pro League but will also make their debut in Rourkela.
*     Indian men team will face Netherlands, Spain, Australia and Ireland in their home matches from February 10 to 16 in Bhubaneswar.
*     They will then shift to Rourkela for their return fixtures taking place between 19 to 25 February.
*     The 5th edition (2023-24) of the FIH Hockey Pro League will feature a total of 144 matches.
*     Netherlands have been the most successful team in the FIH Hockey Pro League, bagging five out of eight titles for far (Twice by men & thrice byh women).
*     Other three titles have been won by Australia (Men), Belgium (Men) and Argentina (Women).
