PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION: After retiring as a gymnast, he cleared Coaches Course at NIS Kolkata in 1987.
WORKING PLACE: Odisha-AMNS Gymnastics High Performance Centre, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. Earlier worked at SAI Hostel, Cuttack from 1987 to 1999; State Sports Hostel, Puri from 1999 to 2015 and SAI Eastern Centre, Kolkata from 2015 till retirement.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AS GYMNAST:
*     Won medals at State level gymnastics championships in Odisha.
*     Participated in a number of National Gymnastics Championships from 1976 to 1985.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AS GYMNASTICS COACH:
*     Started career as gymnastics coach at SAI Hostel, Cuttack in 1987,
*     Worked as Chief Gymnastics Coach at Sports Authority of India (SAI).
*     His pupils have bagged over 300 national and international medals till date.
*     Groomed national and international gymnasts, including Rakesh Kumar Patra, Ashish Kumar, Suvendra Kumar Patra, Alok Ranjan, Partha Mondal, Mayank Srivastava, Papiya Das, Aditya Rana, Vivek Mishra, Siddhartha Verma and Hema Sankar Majhi.
*     He was coach of Indian team in the World Gymnastics Championship at London in 2009 and Tokyo in 2011.
*     Coach of Indian team in the Gymnastics World Cup at Paris, Belgium and Moscow in 2010.
*     Coach of Indian team in the Commonwealth Games at Delhi in 2010 and Glasgow in 2014.
*     Coach of Indian team in the Asian Games at Guangzhou (China) in 2010.
*     Coach of Indian team in the Tulit Peter Gymnastics Tournament at Budapest (Hungary) in 2005 and 2006.

AWARDS/HONOURS RECEIVED:
*     He was conferred with the Biju Patnaik Sports Award for Outstanding Coach for the Year for 2010 by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar on August 29, 2014. The award carried a cheque of Rs 50,000.
*     Felicitated by Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt of India with cash award of Rs 3,75,000 in 2011.
