MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS:

STATE:
*     Won 2 Gold medals (one each in 71kg junior and senior men categories) at the 72nd Odisha State Weightlifting Championship, held at Biju Patnaik Weightlifting Hall, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar from 28-30 October 2025.
*     Won one Silver and Bronze medal for Dhenkanal in 67kg youth boys and junior men categories respectively in the State Weightlifting Championship, held in Berhampur, Ganjam on 19-20 November 2022.
*     Won the Bronze medal in youth boys 61kg category of the Odisha State Weightlifting Championship at Biju Patnaik Weightlifting Hall, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on 11th December 2021.

NATIONAL:
*     Won one Bronze medal in youth boys 73kg category of the IWLF National Weightlifting Championship at Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) on 1 January 2024.

INTERNATIONAL:
*     Mada a glorious international debut, bagging the Gold medal in the 67kg youth category of the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in Suva, Fiji on 18 September 2024.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
*     His father Biranchi Prasad Sahoo worked in a jute mill in Dhenkanal.
*     It took coach Gopal Das six months to convince the parents of Swayamjit to let him do weightlifting as they thought it might stunt his physical growth, break his back and ruin his future.
*     They even changed their house to keep coach Das at bay.
*     Swayamjit trained under Gopal Das in Dhenkanal from September 2018 before graduating to the HPC in Bhubaneswar in 2022.
*     Swayamjit has a brother named Biswajit
