MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS:
* Led an eight-member IAF team for an alpine style climb to Mt Papsura (6440m) in Himachal in 2015.
* Unclimbed peak in Gorichen Region, Arunachal Pradesh in 2014. The team named this unnamed virgin peak as `Garud Parvat`.
* Successfully scaled Mount Everest on May 25, 2011.
* He led a five-member IAF expedition team to the highest peak of the world.
* In 2005, he made an unsuccessful bid conquer Mount Everest. After the death of a fellow expeditionist, Devidutta gave up at a height of 8,000 metres.
* Earlier, Devidutta scaled highest peaks of four continents as a part of AIF` Mission Seven Summit Expedition.

* He was conferred with Biju Patnaik Bravery Award by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on 28th August, 2014. Also received a cash award of Rs 9 lakh.
* He is the fourth mountaineer from Orissa to conquer Mount Everest. The previsous three are Kalpana Dash, Ganesh Chandra Jena and Jogabhyasa Bhoi.
* Devidutta took to mountaineering in the year 2002.
* He has the experience of flying fighter jet Sukhoi.
* Three frots-biten fingers of his right leg were amputed after his successful Mount Everest expedition.
* Underwent treatment for 10 weeks at Airforce Hospital in New Delhi.
