ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION: Graduate in Arts and Physical Education.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION: Diploma in coaching (athletics) from NSNIS, Patiala, 1980.
PROFESSION: Served as an athletic coach in the Sports Department, Government of Orissa for 24 years (1984 to 2008).
AWARDS/HONOURS: Received the Biju Patnaik State Sports Award as the Outstanding Coach for the year 2007 at Bhubaneswar on March 5, 2011.

CAREER PERFORMANCE/ACHIEVEMENT AS PLAYER:
*     Represented Utkal University in football in 1974.
*     Participated in State Senior Athletics Meet for three years (1972 to 1974) as 1,500 metre and 5,000 metre runner.

AS CAREER PERFORMANCE/ACHIEVEMENT AS COACH:
*     Seven of his disciples won international medals. They include Parbati Mohanta, Neelam Rai, Akhinder Kaur, L Lingthogambi Devi, Kalpana Bonth, Partha Sarathi Pahi and Amita Sethi.
*     He groomed scores of National level athletes at different sports hostels.
*     He was the coach of the Junior India athletic squad from 1991 to 1994 and again from 2002 to 2005.
