*     He was the No 1 player of the state for five years (1980s).
*     Won his first state tennis title in 1980, beating Kumar Pradhan at Cuttack.
*     Altogethe bagged around six titles.
*     Held the State hammer throw record for four years.

NATIONAL:
*     Represented Odisha in National tennis championship for three years.
*     Represented Border Security Force (BSF) in All-India Police Games for three years, competing in tennis, athletics and shooting.


MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AS TENNIS COACH:

*     He was the non-playing captain and coach of the Indian team that won the Gold medal at the Qatar Asian 14 & Under Junior Cup Team Championship, held at Doha from Dec 25-28, 2018.
*     Served as the coach of the Indian U-14 boys team in the Asia/Aceania Final Qualifying Competition of the ITF World Junior Tennis Championships, held at Nonthanburi, Thailand from March 26-31, 2018.
*     Participated in the ITF Worldwide Coaches Conference, held at Sofia, Bulgaria from October 11 to 14, 2017.
*     Has been running Orissa Tennis Academy, a leading tennis training centre in Bhubaneswar since early 2000. The academy has branches at several places of the state, including Balasore, Sambalpur, Berhampur, Puri, Keonjhar.
*     In 2007, he changed the name of his academy to S S Tennis Academy.
*     Has shaped the careers of many tennis players, including Satirtha Patnaik, Guliver Low, Sourav Mohanty, Sourav Das, Chinmaya Pradhan, Vijay Avinandan, Samudra Sarangi, Bhanu Prakash, Ansu Kumar Bhuyan, Avilash Mishra, Susita Das, Seeulee Upadhyaya, Sikshya Dhawan and others.
