ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION: MA in History from Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. Earlier studied at Prana Nath College, Khurda.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION: Master in Physical Education from Government College of Physical Education, Bhubaneswar, 1990 and Diploma in Coaching (Volleyball) from Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NIS), Calcutta, 1991.
ROLE IN THE SPORT: Volleyball player-turned-coach
PROFESSION: Working as a volleyball coach in Odisha Council of Sports since July 8, 1991. At present functioning Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. Earlier worked in Koraput, Nabarangapur and Rayagada also as District Sports Officer.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AS PLAYER:
*     Represented Odisha in Women National Sports Competition at Cuttack in 1989.
*     Started sports career as an athlete and won medals in 100m sprint and long jump in State Meets.
*     Also played kabaddi and represented Odisha in School National Championships three times.
*     P N College champion four times from 1982 to 1986.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AS COACH:
*     Worked as a coach at India Sub-Junior Volleyball Camp at Cuttack in 1995 and at
India Junior Volleyball Camp at Calcutta in 1996.
*     Groomed a number of National level players, including Ana Kerketta, Ushakanti Xaxa, Pramila Xess, Mukti Barla, Sibani Priyadarshini and Sangeeta Das.
*     Among her pupils, Mukti Barla
attended U-20 India Camp, and Ana Kerketta, Ushakanti Xaxa and Pramila Xess attended Sub-junior India Camp.
*     Similarly, Sibani Priyadarshini and Sangeeta Das attended India U-20 Selection Trials.
*     Under her coaching, Odisha girls finished runners-up at the Rural National Championship in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh in 1993.
*     As the coach of Odisha women and girls volleyball teams she participated in National Volleyball Championships many times.


OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
*     She was conferred with the Biju Patnaik Sports Award 2024 for Excellence in Coaching, along with Rs 2 lakh by the Government of Odisha in Bhubaneswar on 29 August 2025.
*     She holds the distinction as the only home-grown woman volleyball coach of Odisha.
*     She saved many youngsters of Rally Sahi in Rayagada from going astray and helped them become national level sportspersons after being trained at different sports hostels.
