He is an IRAS Officer of 1981 Civil Services Examination.

For over two decades he promoted sports activities in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh through Indian Railways as a executive.

He has been instrumental in bringing up a beautiful Railway Stadium at Visakhapatnam.

During his tenure in Khurda Road Division of erstwhile undivided South Eastern Railway he gave a face-lift to the Railway Stadium at Jatni (Khurda Road, Orissa).

Played the key role in setting up a the East Coast Railway stadium at Bhubaneswar, which hosted the first ever first class cricket match in the Capital city of Orissa.

Facilitated the recruitment of a good number of sportspersons in the Railways.

Also helped various sports bodies as as an adviser or patron for the promotion of sports in Orissa.

Helped the State Sports Department as a member of the Orissa Council of Sports.
