*     Qualified to represent India in the World Chess Championship for the Blind to be held in Spain from April 24 to May 9, 2016, after finishing runner-up in National A Chess Championship for the Blind, held at Kolkata from Nov 14 to 16, 2015.
*     Received the trophy from former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam after emerging champion in an All-India Chess Tournament for the Blind, held at Tamil Nadu in 2009.

INTERNATIONAL:
*     Qualified to represent the country in the World Junior Chess Championship for the Blind in 2009, but missed the opportunity due to Plus-Three examinations.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
*     Took to chess in 2006 after being encouraged by friends Jaladhar Das and Rabindra Kumar Ojha.
*     In order to take coaching, he joined S R Chess Centre, Badambadi, Cuttack in 2009.
