*     He was first to organize two national tournaments in Odisha _ National-B-at OUAT, Bhubaneswar in 1974 and National-A at Rourkela in 1975.
*     He was the first author to write a book on chess in odia language in 1982.
*     He groomed many chess players and organizers in the state.
*     He was the first person to invite a foreign coach (Russian Yuri Averbakh) to Odisha in 1974.
*     He functioned as the vice-president of Odisha State Chess Association.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO:
*     Khordha District Chess Association has been organising an all-India chess tournament in his memory since 2012.
