* Won the Orissa state senior chess title 16 times (1977, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2002).
* Won the title in the State Open Championship, organised by Orissa State Chess Association at Bhubaneswar on Nov 29, 2009.

* Two times National `B’ champion (1979 at Hyderabad, 1981 at Kanpur) and once runner-up (1987 at Bhilai).
* Once National `A’ runner-up at Agartala in 1983.
* Champion in All-India Sangli Open at Sangli, Maharashtra in 1982.
* Champion in All-India Pilu Modi Open Tournament at Lucknow, 1985.
* Champion in All-India Kanpur Open Tournament at Kanpur, 1986.
* Champion in All-India Open Tournament at Bhubaneswar, 1989.

* Runner-up in Alekhine International Open Tournament at Kolkata in 1979.
