MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS:

STATE:
*     Won the mens javelin Gold medal with New State Record (broke his own record) of 76.41 metre in the 68th Odisha State Senior Athletics Championship at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on 7 September 2021.
*     Won the Gold medal in men’s javelin event of the 65th Odisha State Athletics Championship, held at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack from Dec 28-30, 2017.
*     Won the
Gold medal with new meet record (72.77m) in men’s javelin event of the 64th Odisha State Athletics Championship, held at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack from April 2 to 4, 2017. Also bagged the prize as the best male athlete of the championship.

ZONAL:
*     Won one Silver medal in boys-20 javelin throw event of the 26th East Zone Junior Athletic Championship, held at Kolkatta on Sept 20 and 21, 2014.

NATIONAL:
*      Won the javeline Bronze medal with a throw of 78.47 in the 37th National Games at the Athletics Stadium in Bambolim, Goa 3 November 2023.
*     Won the javelin title with a throw of 82.53m at the Indian Grand Prix-5 in Chandigarh on 10 September 2023.
*     Won the javelin Silver medal with a personal best of 82.87m in the 62nd National Inter State Senior Athletics Championship at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on 19 June 2023. Also bettered the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games qualifying mark of 78.23.
*     Won the mens javelin Gold medal with a personal-best throw of 81.05m at the Indian Grand Prix 1 at LNCPE in Trivandrum, Kerala on 20 March 2023.
*     Won the javelin Gold medal with an effort of 78.93m at the 2nd Indian Open Throws Competition, held at the Inspire Institute of Sports, Bellary, Karnataka on 1 March 2023.

*     Won the javelin Bronze medal at the 61st AFI National Open Athletics Championships at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on 18 October 2022.
*     Won his maiden national Gold medal with an effort of 74.26m in the 3rd National Open Javelin Throw Championships at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on 24 October 2021.

INTERNATIONAL:
*     Finished 9th with a disappointing throw of 76.31m at the Diamond League in Doha, UAE on 10 May 2024.
*     Created history by winning the Silver medal with a personal best of 87.54m at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China on 4 October 2023 and qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
*     Finished fifth with a Personal Best of 84.77m at the 19th World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary on 27 August 2023.
*     Won the Gold medal with a new Personal Best throw of 84.38m at the Sri Lanka National Athletics Championship at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo on 28 July 2023.
*     Won the javelin Gold medal with a throw of 78.96m at the Lebanon National Athletics Championships in Beirut on 21 July 2023.

OTHER IMPORTANT DATA:
*     On 17 January 2014, Odisha Sports Journalists Association felicitated him with the 7th OSJA Sportsperson of Year Award and a cheque of Rs 25,000 at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Centre, Bhubaneswar.
*     On 4 October 2023, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a cash award of Rs 1.5 crore for Jena for winning silver medal at the 19th Asian Games. Odisha Athletics Association and Odisha Olympic Association also announced Rs 1 lakh each.
*     On 2 September 2023, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated him with a cash award of Rs 50 lakhs for his outstanding performance at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest.
*     Intervention of Neeraj Chopra helped Kishore Jena a lot to get the VISA for his participation in the Budapest World Athletics Championships 2023.
*     Coach Malhi and his wife take care of Kishore like their own son.
*     When Kishore was sick Malhi kept him in his house and nursed him back to health and even gave him money to travel to Budapest for the World Championship.
*     He is the first Odisha athlete to qualify for the finals of the World Athletics Championship throwing events.
*     Started his sports career at Government Sports Hostel, Bhubaneswar in 2015.
*     Played volleyball before switching over to athletics in 2019, when he was around 22 years old.
*     Kishore is the youngest only son of their family and has six elder sisters.
*     His father is a farmer.
