Midfielder Pintu Nag will lead a 20-member Odisha State Team in the Junior Boys National Football Championship for Dr BC Roy Trophy (Tier-1) 2026-27, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka from 25 August to 9 September 2026. The team was announced by the Football Association of Odisha (FAO) today.
The championship will feature a total of 20 teams and 27 matches. Teams will play league matches in four groups and the top team from each group will qualify for the semifinals. Odisha has been placed in Group-D, along with Delhi, Goa and Uttar Pradesh.
Odisha boys are scheduled to meet Goa in their opening match at Bengaluru Football Stadium on August 26. They will play their second and last league games at the same venue against Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on August 28 and 30 respectively.
ODISHA JUNIOR BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM: Goalkeepers: Subramanyam Soren, Kumar Soren. Defenders: Shaikh Shahzaib, Atish Xalxo, Prayas Behera, Babasaan Hembram, Shyam Sawaiya, Srisambhu Mirdha, Lucky Tudu.
