Young Utkal Club lifted the trophy in the FAO Inter Club Futsal Championship, defeating Junior Gallant Club by 3-2 goals in the final at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack today. Champions Young Utkal Club received a prize of Rs 25,000, while runners-up Junior Gallant Club were given Rs 15,000.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by FAO vice-presidents Dillip Kumar Sahu, Md Shahid Jabbar, Birendra Behera, Sahadev Rout and Technical Director Akshay Das. The five-day tournament, featuring nine club teams, was organised by Football Association of Odisha (FAO).
The tournament witnessed a total of 17 matches, including the final. Teams played league matches in two groups and the top two teams from each group qualified for the semifinals.
