With the five medals, which include two gold, one silver and two bronze, Odisha finished a creditable sixth among 15 medal-winning states and government establishments, thus bettering their previous record of seventh position, which was achieved at the 78th edition of the Senior National Championships, held last year in Bhubaneswar.

Of course, Odisha bagged one medal less than the previous tally of six (one gold, two silver and three bronze), but improved its position in the overall tally by winning more gold medals this time. Women swimmers made Odisha as well as their alma mater (Odisha IIS-JSW Swimming HPC) proud yet again by winning all five medals at Ahmedabad. 

Spearheading the Odisha campaign, Pratyasa, the most decorated swimmer of the State, bagged two gold and one bronze in individual events and one silver in medley relay. She proved herself as the best backstroker of the country, capturing the two gold in 100m and 200m, and the bronze in 50m events. Mannata Mishra was the other individual medallist for Odisha, claiming one bronze in womens 200m breaststroke.
