  KITG 2026: Odisha athletes, wrestler bag 12 medals

Odisha bagged as many as 12 medals, including 11 in athletics, on the seventh day of the 1st Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG) in Chhattisgarh today. The 12 medals featured four gold, four silver and four bronze. The addition of the 12 medals today helped Odisha maintain their second spot in the medals tally with a total of 35 medals, which include 13 gold, 8 silver and 14 bronze.

Odisha athletes secured three gold, four silver and four bronze today. The other gold medal of the day for Odisha was captured by wrestler Ajit Bhuyan in mens 57kg freestyle category at Gandhi Stadium in Sarguja. Among medal winning Odisha athletes Basanti Majhi, Sagar Ekka and the mens 4x100m relay team secured one gold each.

 

The four silver in athletics were claimed by Kabita Tadingi, Nobal Kumar Kissan, Bhima Sardar and the womens 4x100m relay team. Hemanta Khadia, Jiwan Mukti Bilung, Chandray Murmu and Atish Kindo won the four bronze medals for Odisha.

Gold (Athletics): Basanti Majhi, Athletics, womens 100m hurdles, 16.20 seconds.
Gold (Athletics): Sagar Ekka, mens high jump, 1.94 metres.
Gold (Athletics): Nobal Kumar Kissan, Jiwan Mukti Bilung, Bhima Sardar and Atish Kindo, mens 4x100m relay, 41.97 seconds.
Gold (Wrestling): Ajit Bhuyan, mens freestyle 57kg category.

Silver (Athletics): Kabita Tadingi, womens 100m hurdles, 16.81 seconds.
Silver (Athletics): Nobal Kumar Kissan, mens 400m run, 49.335 seconds.
Silver (Athletics): Bhima Sardar, mens long jump, 6.96 metres.
Silver (Athletics): Basanti Majhi, Jamuna Tudu, Rameswari Gond, Sanju Hantal, womens 4x100m relay, 51.11 seconds.

Bronze (Athletics): Hemanta Khadia, mens high jump, 1.80 metres.
Bronze (Athletics): Jiwan Mukti Bilung, mens long jump, 6.95 metres.
Bronze (Athletics): Chandray Murmu, mens discus throw, 33.97 metres.
Bronze (Athletics): Atish Kindo, mens 100m run, 10.91 seconds.
