  KITG 2026: Odisha swimmers start campaign with four medals

Women swimmers gave Odisha a sparkling start in the inaugural Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG), bagging one gold and three bronze medals at International Swimming Pool in Raipur, Chhattisgarh today. Anjali Munda won the gold medal in womens 200m freestyle, clocking 2:39.02 seconds.

Sriya Padiami (200m freestyle), Rinky Murmu (100m breaststroke) and Ritika Minz (womens 50m butterfly) claimed the three bronze medals for Odisha. Government Odisha has fielded a 154-member State contingent, the largest among all states, featuring 132 players and 22 coaches and support staff.

 

Barring football, Odisha is competing in six disciplines – archery, athletics, hockey, swimming, weightlifting and wrestling. Olympian Lazarus Barla has accompanied the Odisha hockey squad as the coach. Prabodha Kumar Mohanty has been named as the manager of the Odisha athletics squad.

Gold: Anjali Munda, Swimming, Womens 200m freestyle, 2:39.02s (25 March).
Bronze: Sriya Padiami, Swimming, Womens 200m freestyle, 2:49.04s (25 March).
Bronze: Rinky Murmu, Swimming, Womens 100m breaststroke, 1:34.70s (25 March).
Bronze: Ritika Minz, Swimming, Womens 50m butterfly, 35.54s (25 March).
