  Kalahandi Cup Cricket: Debasis bowls Puri to victory

Debasis Dash bagged six wickets for 36 runs to guide Puri to a five-wicket win over Mayurbhanj in in their preliminary league match of the OCA Senior Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament for Kalahandi Cup at Ravenshaw University Ground in Cuttack today.

Bhadrak, Angul, Balasore, Rourkela, Cuttack-A, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam and Jharsuguda posted wins in eight other matches of the day. Among outstanding performers of the day, Aashirwad Swain (Rourkela), Soubhagya Mishra (Jagatsinghpur) and Rohit Sagar (Ganjam) hit a century each, while Kamal K Kanhar (Kandhamal) claimed five wickets.

Match 88 (Ravenshaw Ground, Cuttack): Bargarh 97/10 in 24 overs (Prabin K Luha 38; Nanda Munda 4/41) lost to Bhadrak 101/2 in 14.5 overs (Swayambhu Palai 57*) by 8 wickets. PoM: Nanda Munda.

Match 89 (Adashpur Ground, Cuttack): Bhubaneswar-B 182/10 in 42 overs (M G Gopal 24; Milan Samal 3/43, Rakesh Biswal 2/29) lost to Angul 183/8 in 36.2 overs (Rakesh Biswal 40; M G Gopal 3/16) by 2 wickets. PoM: Rakesh Biswal.

Match 90 (Ravenshaw Ground, Cuttack): Mayurbhanj 128/10 in 38.2 overs (Abhijit P Ghana 29; Debasish Dash 6/36) lost to Puri 131/5 in 14.2 overs (Mayank Pattanayak 75*; Abhijit P Ghana 3/72) by 5 wickets. PoM: Debasish Dash.

Match 93 (BJB School Ground, Khordha): Nuapada 271/10 in 46.5 overs (Swayam Meher 52; Suprabhat Pattanaik 4/54, Arun Moharana 2/45) lost to Jagatsinghpur 272/6 in 38 overs (Soubhagya Mishra 110, Arun Moharana 75, Kissan Ratha 51; Ayushman Gupta 3/47) by 4 wickets. PoM: Arun Moharana.
