Shreyash Shuvam Patnaik and Aryan Behera won the rapid and blitz titles respectively in the Odisha State Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships 2025–26, which was held at Synergy Institute of Technology, Phulnakhara, Bhubaneswar on 28 February and 1 March 2026.
Cuttack youth Shreyash scored seven points from eight rounds to receive the top prize of Rs 5,000. Aryan, from Jajpur, finished runner-up, also with seven points. But Aryan asserted supremacy in the blitz competition to clinch the crown and a cash prize of Rs 2,500 with full eight points. Lavyaajyoti Routray (Kendrapara) settled as runner-up with 6.5 points.
The two-day championship was organised by Triple-C Chess Club, under the aegis of the All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA) and was supported by the Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Synergy Institute of Technology Administrative Officer Laxmikanta Pradhan and Sports Officer Samarendra Sahoo, along with Triple-C Chess Club president Biswajit Ray and chief arbiter Suresh Chandra Sahoo.
The top two finishers in both rapid and blitz categories qualified to represent Odisha in the National Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships, scheduled to be held at Sarala Birla University, Ranchi, Jharkhand, from 11 to 13 March 2026.
