  AIIU Aquatics: More medals for Pratyasa, Mannata

Leading Odisha women swimmers Pratyasa Ray and Mannata Mishra secured one silver medal each for Chandigarh University and KIIT Deemed to be University respectively on the third day of the All India Inter-University Aquatics Championship at Dr TR Paarivendhar Aquatic Complex in Chennai, Tamil Nadu today.

Pratyasa, the most decorated swimmer of the State, secured the silver in 800m freestyle relay. This was the second silver and fourth medal for Pratyasa in the ongoing championship. Earlier, she bagged one gold each in the women 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay, and 1 silver in 50m backstroke.

 

Mannata Mishra claimed the silver medal in women 100m breaststroke, clocking 1:15.29. This was also the second silver medal for Mannata, who captured her first silver in 200m breaststroke two days back. KIIT pocketed another medal today with Nilabjaa Ghosh taking the bronze in the 50m butterfly with a timing of 28.95 seconds.

The All India Inter-University Aquatics Championship for both men and women is being organised by SRM University, under the auspices of Association of Indian Universities from 18 to 23 December 2025. Around 115 universities from across the country are participating in this championship.
