  Cooch Behar Trophy: Odisha bow out with a consolation draw

Odisha U-19 Mens Cricket Team ended its disastrous campaign in Cooch Behar Trophy Tournament with some consolation as their fifth and last Elite Group-C league match against Himachal Pradesh ended in a draw on the fourth and last day at Gandhi Stadium in Balangir today.

Odisha also gained three points by taking first-innings lead in the drawn tie. However, Odisha crashed out of the tournament from the league stage, suffering four successive defeats before the face-saving draw against Himachal. Odisha finished fifth in the six-team Group-C, securing three points from five games.

Four players of the Odisha team displayed notable performances in the drawn match against Himachal. Priyanshu Mohanty bagged seven wickets for 60 runs in the first innings, captain Sambit Beja and Aditya Anand scored 100 and 73 respectively the only time they batted and Sayed Tufayl Ahmad scalped six wickets for 94 runs in the second innings.
 

Odisha earlier lost to Maharashtra by an innings and 250 runs, Andhra by 253 runs, Uttarakhand by an innings and 150 runs, and Karnataka by an inning and 53 runs.
