Maintaining her reputation as the best woman cyclist of India, Odisha icon Swasti Singh won the title in the 50 kms road criterium race of the HCL Cyclothon, which was held in Bengaluru, Karnataka today. The triumph fetched Swasti the top prize of Rs 1.2 lakh.
Soumya Antapur (Indian Railways) and Harshita Jakhar (Rajasthan) finished second and third respectively. Soumya received Rs 1 lakh, while Harshita became richer by Rs 80,000.
Swasti won the race, securing the first position in all three sprint points. Speaking of her performance, Rourkela cyclist Swasti said: “This was a tough race with the roads featuring hills. But I was riding my new road bike and wanted to make it a champion. Happy that I and my bike did it.”
