  CS Tennis: Odisha boy Suyash clinches double crown

Odisha teenager Suyash Patnaik clinched a double crown by winning the boys U-14 singles and U-16 doubles titles in the Major Sandeep Mohapatra Memorial KDTA-AITA-OTA Championship Series U-14 & U-16 Tennis Tournament, which was held at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex, Bhubaneswar from 3 to 7 November 2025.

Suyash claimed the U-16 doubles crown with statemate Ayush Pattanaik as his partner. Jharkhand girl Vijeta V also bagged a double, emerging girls U-16 singles and doubles champion. Mihika Roy (WB) and Rishik K (Telangana) won the girls U-14 and boys U-16 singles titles respectively.
 

A total of 60 players from nine states (West Bengal, Chhattisgarh , Karnataka, Telangana , Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Manipur, Kerala and host Odisha vied for honours in the five-day tournament, which was organised by Khordha District Tennis Association (KDTA) with the support of Odisha Tennis Association (OTA).

KDTA president Madhu Sudan Padhi handed over the trophies to the finalists in presence of KDTA working president Damodar Pradhani, secretary Asit Pradhan, tournament director Rajesh Kanungo, tournament referee Jatin Batsya and KDTA manager Prakash Patnaik. The winner and runners-up secured 25 and 20 AITA ranking points respectively.

RESULTS (All finals):

Boys U-14 Singles: Suyash Patnaik (Odisha) beat Saphal Aagman (Jharkhand) 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
Girls U-14 Singles: Mihika Roy (WB) beat Sanvee Basu (WB) 0-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Boys U-16 Singles: Rishik K (Telangana) beat Ayush Pattanaik (Odisha) 6-2, 7-6(3).
Girls U-16 Singles: Vijeta V (Jharkhand) beat Sanvee Basu (WB) 6-2, 6-3.
Boys U-16 Doubles: Suyash Patnaik & Ayush Pattanaik (Odisha) beat Shreyan Patnaik (Odisha) & Saphal Aagman (Jharkhand) 6-1, 7-5.
Girls U-16 Doubles: Vijeta V (Jharkhand) & Ridhima Mullick (WB) beat Mihika Roy (WB) & Harshini Ethiraj (Kerala) 6-2, 6-2.
