  Para badminton: Double crown for Bhagat; Bisoyee bags bronze

Odisha para shuttlers Pramod Bhagat and Deep Ranjan Bisoyee won two gold and one bronze medals respectively in the Australia Para Badminton International 2025, a World Badminton Federation (BWF) Level-2 Tournament, which took place in Bendigo, Australia from 21 to 25 October 2025.

Paralympian Bhagat won the two gold medals in mens singles SL3 and mens doubles SL3-SL4 categories respectively. In the singles final, former world champion Bhagat beat fellow Indian Manoj Sarkar 21-14, 21-17.

Bhagat won the SL3-SL4 double title, partnering fellow Indian Sukant Kadam. They prevailed over another Indian combination of Suryakant Yadav and Umesh Vikram Kumar in the summit clash 21-9, 19-21, 21-18.

Bisoyee captured the bronze medal in mens doubles SL3-SL4 category by qualifying for the semifinals with Indian partner Manoj Sarkar. But in the last-four clash, Bisoyee and Sarkar lost to compatriots Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam 21-19, 21-16. That was the only match Bisoyee and Sarkar played in the tournament.

The medal winners expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Sports and Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha and the Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO) for their constant encouragement and support.
