Host Odisha secured six points against three by Assam in their rain-marred CK Nayudu Trophy (U-23) Elite Group-B match, which ended in a damp draw on the fourth and last day today without completion of first innings of both the teams at KIIT Cricket Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Assam folded up for 216 in 80 overs. Rajveer Singh helped Assam to compile a respectable total, scoring a gritty century. Ritesh Priyaranjan and Ayush Barik caused heavy damage to the Assam batting, bagging four and three wickets respectively.

In replay, Odisha were going strong at 169 for three when the ill-fated match ended due to persistent rain. No play was possible on the fourth and final day. Amidst the inclement weather conditions, Odisha batters Om T Munde (84) and Panakala Sasanka (48) put up nice performances, compiling 103 runs in their first-wicket partnership.

Odisha will next take on Vidarbha at MGM School of Sports in Gurudijhatia, Cuttack from November 2 to 5.
