  CM felicitates Blind Women T20 WC winning Odisha cricketers

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today felicitated four Odisha players of the Indian team that created history by winning the inaugural Womens T20 World Cup for the Blind, defeating Nepal in the final by seven wickets in the final at P Sara Oval in Colombo, Sri Lanka earlier on 23 November 2025.

Chief Minister Majhi congratulated the four blind women cricketers (Phula Soren, Basanti Hansda, Jamuna Rani Tudu and Parbati Marandi) when they met him at his residence in Bhubaneswar. He felicitated them with a cheque of Rs 11 lakh each.

Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Sports Secretary Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Director Yedula Vijay, India team coach Debashish Jena and Cricket Association for the Visually Impaired Odisha president Mohammad Jaffar Iqbal were present on the occasion.

The four players were given a rousing welcome at the Biju Patnaik International Airport on their return to the State earlier in the day. On their return home, the Indian team called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on November 27 and President Droupadi Murmu on November 29.
