Khordha boy Bapun Rout and Cuttack girl Swati Nayak clinched double crowns in the Yonex-Sunrise All-Odisha Sub-Junior (U-17) State Ranking Badminton Tournament, which was held at Biju Patnaik Indoor Hall in Dhenkanal from 8 to 10 August 2025.

Bapun won both the boys singles and doubles titles with Jayakrushna Gardia (Sambalpur) as his doubles partner. Swati emerged both the girls singles and doubles champion with Nimeesha Ojha (Khordha) as her doubles partner. The mixed doubles title was bagged by Somyajeet Sahoo (Khordha) & Jessica Sahu (Bhadrak).

The three-day tournament, carrying a total prize fund Rs 62,000, was organised by OSBA Development Committee & District Badminton Association Dhenkanal, under the auspices of Orissa State Badminton Association (OSBA).

Cash prizes were given to title winners, runners-up and losing semifinalists. Singles and doubles champions received Rs 4,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. Singles and doubles  runners-up pocketed Rs 3,000 and Rs 3,500 respectively, while losing semifinalists became richer by Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively. Players paid entry fee of Rs 800 for singles and Rs 1600 for doubles.

Boys Singles: Bapun Rout (Khordha) beat Somyajeet Sahoo (Khordha) 21-18, 21-16.
Girls Singles: Swati Nayak (Cuttack) beat Nimeesha Ojha (Khordha) 23-21, 17-21, 23-21.
Boys Doubles: Bapun Rout (Khordha) & Jayakrushna Gardia (Sambalpur) beat Bibhudutta Biswal (Dhenkanal) & Somyajeet Sahoo (Khordha) 18-21, 21-18, 21-13.
Girls Doubles: Nimeesha Ojha (Khordha) & Swati Nayak (Cuttack) beat Jessica Sahu (Bhadrak) & Sofia Padhy (Ganjam) 21-13, 21-8.
Mixed Doubles: Somyajeet Sahoo (Khordha) & Jessica Sahu (Bhadrak) beat Jayakrushna Gardia (Sambalpur) & Ashwita Parichha (Balasore) 21-17, 21-13.
