Odisha suffered a five-wicket defeat against Hyderabad in their Elite Group-C opening match of the Senior Women T20 Trophy at Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) today. The win fetched Hyderabad four points, while Odisha drew blank.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Odisha made a modest total of 108 for eight in 20 overs. Hyderabad overhauled the target in 18.3 overs, losing five wickets. Odisha captain Sushree Dibyadarhini put up notable allround performance, hitting a 21-ball 28 and picking up two wickets for 17 runs.

Former India batter Madhuri Meheta was the top scorer for Odisha with 36-ball 32. Odisha will next play Himachal Pradesh at Captan Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior tomorrow.
