Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) today announced a 13-member National squad, including four from Odisha for the Senior Women Asia Rugby Sevens Series (Round-1) to be held in Hangzhou, China on 20 and 21 September 2025. The four Odisha players are: Dumuni Marndi, Mama Naik, Sandhyarani Tudu and Nirmalya Rout.
Dumuni has also been named as the vice-captain. Led by Shikha Yadav, the Indian team will play in this series for the first time. A total of 12 countries will participate in the Round-1 competition, which will take place at Hangzhou Normal University.
India has been placed in Pool F with Hong Kong China, Thailand and the Philippines. Round-2 of the Asian Sevens Series is scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 18 and 19 October 2025.
