Indian boys and girls teams ended their campaign without any medal in the Asia U-18 Rugby Sevens Championship, which was held in Hohhot, China on 13 and 14 September 2025. Indian girls finished fourth, while Indian boys ended sixth. China won the girls title, Japan and claimed the silver and bronze medal respectively.

The gold medal boys group was bagged by Japan with Hong Kong China and China securing silver and bronze respectively. As many as seven players from Odisha represented India in this championship.

The seven Odisha players were: Bidyadhar Majhi, Charan Hembram, Bharat Kisan, Attma Murmu (all boys) and Mamali Singh, Anita Murmu, Raimani Murmu (all girls). Bidyadhar Majhi was the captain of the Indian boys team.

Indian girls played five matches, won two and lost three, including the semifinals against China. Indian boys team also played five games, won two and lost three.

GIRLS: Mamali Singh, Anita Murmu, Raimani Murmu, Anshu Kumari (Captain), Muskan Piploda (Vice-Captain), Saloni Kumari, Alpana Kumari, Arti Kumari, Sushila, Anushkha, Vijayshree Rathore. Head Coach: Kiano Fourie.

INDIA RESULTS:

BOYS: India lost to China 0-36. India beat Qatar 24-5. India lost to Hong Kong China 19-29. India beat Kazakhstan 28-0. India lost to Malaysia 12-22. Finished 6th.

GIRLS: India lost to Japan 7-50. India beat Uzbekistan 14-5. India beat Malaysia 24-5. India lost to China 5-34 in semifinals. India lost to Hong Kong China 12-20. Finished 4th.
