  Buchi Babu Cricket: Baroda beat Odisha by 113 runs

A century by Swastik Samal and a six-wicket haul by Sumit Sharma went in vain as Odish suffered a 113-run defeat against Baroda on the third and last day of their opening Group-B match in the All India Buchi Babu Memorial Invitational Cricket Tournament at CPTIT Turf in Chennai, Tamil Nadu today.

Opting to bat, Baroda made 381 for six in the first innings and 256 in the second. In reply, Odisha were bowled out for 172 in the second essay after mustering a strong total of 353 in the first innings.

RESULTS:
 

18-20 August 2025 (League Match at CPT IP Turf, Chennai): Baroda (First innings) 381/6 in 90 overs (Nitya Pandya 102, Sukrit Pandey 85; Sunil Kumar Roul 2/74).

Odisha (First innings): 353/10 in 89.5 overs (Swastik Samal 114, Govinda Poddar 71, Sambit Baral 59; Pradip Yadav 5/90, Aryan Chavda 2/114).

Baroda (Second innings): 256/10 in 44.4 overs (Harsh Desai 81, Mohit Mongia 58; Sumit Sharma 6/55, Badal Biswal 2/59)

Odisha (Second innings): 172/10 in 36.4 overs (Sambit Baral 46, Sunil Kumar Roul 38; Aryan Chavda 5/71, Pradip Yadav 4/56) by 113 runs.
