Bhubaneswar emerged team champions with a total of 139 medals in the 37th Odisha State Sub-junior and 37tg Cadet & Junior Karate Championship, which was held at Utkal Karate School from 9 to 11 May 2025. Balasore finished runners-up, bagging 35 medals.

According to an e-mail sent by Utkal Karate School, around 700 karatekas from 21 districts participated in the three-day championship. State Sports & Youth Services Department, Joint-Secretary Sonali Chand, Director Deepankar Mohapatra and BJP leader Pradyumna Kumar Jena handed over the prizes at the closing ceremony.

Competitions were held in 96 different age and weight categories for boys and girls. The age group included six years to 13 years.
