Odisha finished 13th with a total of 12 medals in the 1st Khelo India Beach Games, which concluded at Ghoghla Beach in Daman & Diu today. The 12 medals featured one gold, four silver and seven bronze. Odisha bagged the highest number of eight medals (3 silver, 5 bronze) in pencak silat, a form of Indonesian martial art.
Odisha women beach soccer team captured the lone gold, while sepak takraw fetched three medals (one silver, 2 bronze). Piyush Thakur represented Odisha in open water swimming and finished seventh in mens 10km event with a time of 2:35:36.
