  Deep, Subhrajeet bag Dubai Para Badminton bronze medals

Odisha para badminton athletes Deep Ranjan Bisoyee and Subhrajeet Maharana won one bronze medal each for India in the 6th Fazza Dubai Para Badminton International Level 2 Tournament, which was held at Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club in Dubai, UAE from 6 to 11 May 2025.

Deep secured the bronze medal by reaching semifinals in mixed doubles SL3-SU5 event, partnering Oksana Kozyna of Ukraine. The Indo-Ukrainian pair advanced to the semifinals after a strong win over Muhammad Hashraf Muazzam and Binti Mat Lawani of Indonesia. But in the semifinal clash, they went down to the Indian combination of Chirag Baretha and Mandeep Kaur 10-21, 5-21.

Subhrajeet claimed the bronze medal in mens doubles SL3-SL4 category with Indian partner Bittu Kumar. The duo displayed excellent coordination, defeating Mustafa Tugra Nur and Fuat Suraklu of Turkey with scores of 21-17, 21-16 to reach the semifinals where they were edged out by Korean pair of Joo Dong Jae and Shin Khung Huan 17-21, 11-21.

The medal winners expressed their gratitude to the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha, and the Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO) for the constant encouragement and institutional support that made their international success possible.
