Odisha boys started their campaign on a flying note as they thrashed Tamil Nadu 41-5 and Assam 34-7 in Group-A league to advance to the pre-quarterfinals. Continuing their winning run, Odisha boys mauled Assam 31-0 in pre-quarterfinals, Telangana 59-0 in quarterfinals and Delhi 22-0 in semifinals to set up the title clash against Bihar.

Bharat Kisan emerged as the top scorer for Odisha and second most scorers in the championship with 57 points to his name. Abhay Horo of Jharkhand was the top scorer of the championship with a total of 59 points.
