Legendary Odisha woman footballer Sradhanjali Samantaray added yet another jewel to her crown as she became the first women and third football coach from the State after Shuvendu Panda and Akshay Das to acquire the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) A License today.
According to Football Association of Odisha (FAO), former India women football team captain Samantaray successfully passed the AFC A-License Course, held recently in Kolkata.
The AFC A License Course is designed to educate coaches in tactical and technical requirements, leadership qualities, management, player identification, and teaching physiological and psychological needs of the player. Duration of the course was 30 days divided into three modules (two modules earlier).
A role-model for budding female football talents of Odisha, Samantaray already holds an AFC B-License, which she secured in 2014. The 47-year-old international player-turned-coach, has the reputation of winning laurels for her state and the country in both capacities.
FAO president Tankadhar Tripathy, secretary Asirbad Behera, former India women football team coach Mohammad Shahid Jabbar and AFC A-License coach Akshay Das congratulated Samantaray for the latest achievement and wished her more success in the future.
