  Junior National Wushu: Odisha win 1 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze

A 39-member Odisha squad harvested seven medals in the 24th Junior National Wushu Championship which was organised by Amateur Wushu Association of Telangana, under the aegis of Wushu Association of India at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad from 1 to 6 July 2025. The seven medals consisted of one gold, three silver and three bronze.

Sonakshi Mohanty captured the all-important gold medal, while the three silver medals were bagged by Sadhana Majhi, Samridhi and Romesh Munda. Ayush Anshuman Sahu, Rahul Ghadei and Unnati Prasad claimed one bronze medal each.

Odisha squad was accompanied by seven officials, including head judge Pradyumna Behera, judges Pruthwiraj Harichandan and Tika Bahadur; coaches Pankaj Mahanta and Sujan Rath; managers Iswar Chandra Mohanta and Sushmita Mahanta.

Wushu Association of Orissa chairman Sudhanshu Shekhar Harichandan, president Bishnu Mohan Mohanty, vice-president Bikash Chandra Pattnaik and general secretary Yuvraj Harichand have congratulated the medal winners of the State.

ODISHA MEDALLISTS:

Gold: Sonakshi Mohanty, Girls taolu wingchun.
Silver: Sadhana Majhi, Girls taolu dulian.
Silver: Samridhi, Girls taolu dulian.
Silver: Romesh Munda, Boys sanda 48 kg.
Bronze: Ayush Anshuman Sahu, Boys flexible weapon.
Bronze: Rahul Ghadei, Boys nan type.
Bronze: Unnati Prasad, Girls sanda 52kg.
