Nishant Biswal won the title in the Falcon All Odisha Open 6Red Snooker Tournament with a stunning 6-4 win against multi-time National champion Ashutosh Padhy in the final at the Vintage Club in Bhubaneswar today. This was the seventh title win for Nishant in State level open snooker tournaments.

After taking a 1-0 lead, Nishant maintained it despite several fightbacks by Ashutosh and won the hard-fought final match 48-26, 32-33, 36-11, 24-41, 39-26, 44-11, 30-37, 44-0, 19-35, 38-29. Nishant received the top prize of Rs 21,000, while runner-up Ashutosh took home Rs 11,000.

Earlier in the semifinals, Nishant trounced Rakesh Roshan Pradhan 6-1 (43-12, 39-20, 57-26, 48-0, 13-43, 34-30, 50-9), while Ashutosh prevailed over Chirag Arora 5-2 (44-1, 25-32, 39-14, 38-4, 32-1, 14-41, 32-10).

Losing semifinalists were given Rs 5,000 each and losing quarterfinalists Rs 2,500 each. Sharda Behera pocketed Rs 5,000 for notching the highest break of 57. Tournament director Govind Sharma, Vintage Club founder-owner Amiya Ranjan Nayak and Vintage Club partner Satyadeep Das handed over the trophies and cash awards at the closing ceremony.

The four-day tournament was organised by the Billiards & Snooker Association of Odisha. BSAO president Tara Ranjan Pattnaik and secretary Sameer Ali congratulated all the participants and prize winners.
