  U-19 Men Inter-District Cricket: Cuttack-A emerge champions

Cuttack-A emerged champions in the OCA U-19 Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament (One-Day Format), defeating Bhubaneswar-A by 67 runs in the final at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today. Anil Sahoo was the main architect of the Cuttack-A win, hitting an unbeaten 108 off 132 balls.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Cuttack-A made a strong total of 237 for eight. In reply, Bhubaneswar-A were bowled out for 170. Swagat Mishra was the top scorer for Bhubaneswar-A, hitting 79-ball 51.

The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the runners-up side were given Rs 50,000. The tournament, which commenced on 18 May 2025, featured a total of 37 teams and 103 matches.
 

Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) joint-secretary Prabhat Bhol, treasurer Bikash Pradhan and members Dhiren Pallai, Sangram Keshari Guman Singh, Nrusingha Charan Choudhury, Sushant Mohanty, Nirban Roy, Sibabrata Mallick, Swagat Samantaray, Santosh Das and Anjan Kumar Khuntia were present at the trophy presentation ceremony.

Teams played preliminary league matches divided in groups and the top team from each group along with the overall top two teams from the remaining teams advanced to the quarter-finals.

RESULTS (22 June 2025):

Final Match (Barabati Stadium, Cuttack): Cuttack-A 237/8 in 45 overs (Anil Sahoo 108*, Piyus R Mantri 40, Sambit Beja 36; Chandranshu S Baghel 3/33, Pragyan Kumar Patri 2/51) beat Bhubaneswar-A 170/10 in 40.4 overs (Swagat S Mishra 51, Ayush Kumar Chand 41, Saswat Rout 27; Sambit Beja 2/18, Janamjay Jena 2/25, Arnab Patnaik 2/28, Choudhury S Mohanty 2/33) by 67 runs.
