  Nine from Odisha shine at Indian Athletics Grand Prix-2

Nine athletes from Odisha secured top-three positions in the Indian Athletics Grand Prix-2, which was held at Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) in Trivandrum, Kerala on 17 May 2025. Animesh Kujur was most successful among Odisha competitors, winning both the mens 100m and 200m sprint events.

Woman middle-distance runner Laxmipriya Kisan was the other title winner from Odisha, achieving the success in 800m run. Other top-three position winners were: Lalu Prasad Bhoi, Dondapati Mrutyam Jayaram, Abhinash Sahu, Astik Pradhan, Pragyan Prasanti Sahu, Sabita Toppo and Dayanidhi Munda.

 

ODISHA TOP-THREE POSITION WINNERS:

*     Animesh Kujur: First in mens 100m Race-A (10.31s) and first in 200m Race-D (20.55s).
*     Lalu Prasad Bhoi: Second in mens 100m Race-A (10.57s) and second in 200m Race-C (21.23s).
*     Dondapati Mrutyam Jayaram: Third in mens 100m Race-A (10.57s).
*     Abhinash Sahu: First mens 100m Race-C (10.74s) and second in 200m Race-A (21.88s).
*     Astik Pradhan: Third in 200m Race-A (21.92s).
*     Pragyan Prasanti Sahu: Second in women 100m hurdles (13.27s).
*     Sabita Toppo: Third womens 100m hurdles (14.20s).
*     Dayanidhi Munda: Third in mens 800m (1:52.80).
*     Laxmipriya Kisan: First in the womens 800m (2:09.10).
