Indian womens baseball team, featuring Odisha players Deepa Majhi and Dharitri Singh, confirmed its qualification for the Asian Cup 2025 after finishing runners-up in the Asian Baseball Cup 2025 Qualifiers, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 23 to 29 April 2025.
Organised by Womens Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Asia, the Womens Asian Baseball Cup is a second-tier competition below the Asian Baseball Championship. It also serves as a qualifier from which two teams can secure a direct entry into the Asian Baseball Championship.
Part of the Western Division in the Asian Baseball Cup 2025 Qualifiers, India were clubbed with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Iran in Group-A of the Opening Round. Indian wom won all three of their pool matches, beating Pakistan 2-1, Sri Lanka 14-4 and Iran 13-0 to progress to the semifinals where they India edged out Thailand 6-5.
