An impressive knock of 75 by Jami Tanay and a four-wicket haul by Manoranjan Swain enabled Malkangiri beat Angul by 31 runs in their preliminary league match of the OCA U-19 Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament (One-Day Format) at Ravenshaw Ground-1 in Cuttack today.

Kendrapara trounced Koraput by 119 runs and Cuttack-B defeated Deogarh by 40 runs in two other matches of the day. Ashim Barad was instrumental in the Kendrapara win, hitting a half-century. Anshuman Yadav starred in the Cuttack-B win, scoring 68 runs.

Among other notable performers of the day, Mohanraj Rout (Kendrapara) and Satya P Behera (Angul) scored a half-century each, while Ronit Pradhan (Deogarh) captured five wickets for 33 runs.
