Odisha reaped a rich harvest of 17 medals in the 25th Sub-junior National Wushu Championship, which was held at KSR College of Engineering in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu from 26 to 31 May 2025. The 17 medals featured two gold, four silver and 11 bronze.
A 65-member squad, including 59 players and six officials represented Odisha in this championship. The squad was accompanied by head judge Pradyumna Behera, judge Susanta Naik, coaches Pankaj Mahanta and Divya Mohan Pradhan, managers Sujan Rath and Iswar Chandra Mohanta.
Wushu Association of Orissa chairman Sudhanshu Shekhar Harichandan, president Bishnu Mohan Mohanty and general secretary Yuvraj Harichand have congratulated medal winners of the State.
ODISHA MEDALLISTS:
Gold: 1. Majnu Munda (Boys sanda 26kg), 2. Rasmita Munda (Girls sanda 22kg).
Silver: 1. Susant Gagrai (Boys sanda 32kg), 2. Priyatama Munda (Girls sanda 34kg), 3. Ayush Das (Boys taolu gunshu), 4. Nirendra Das (boys taolu nan type).
Bronze: 1. Aniket Maji (Boys taolu gunshu), 2. Priyabrata Parida (Boys taolu single weapon), 3. Malhar Mishra (Boys taolu qianshu), 4. R Padma (Girls taolu nanquan), 5. Prapti Priyanshi Mohanta (Girls tao jianshu), 6. Adarsha Pradhan (Boys taolu flexible weapon), 7. Ananya Geru (Girls qianshu), 8. Omm Bahadur (Boys sanda 34kg), 9. Rohit Munda (Boys sanda 36kg), 10. Krishna Munda (Boys sanda 22kg), 11. Nirendra Das (Boys taolu double weapon).
