KIIT University won the bronze medal by finishing third in the All-India Inter-University Women’s Hockey Championship 2024-25, held at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, Punjab from 21 to 26 February 2025. KIIT beat Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak in the third/fourth-place match by 4-3 goals, a KIIT press release informed today.

Host Guru Nanak Dev University bagged the gold medal, while the silver medal was secured by ITM University, Gwalior. Top 16 universities of the country participated in the championship. Besides winning the bronze medal, KIIT women team also qualified for the Khelo India University Games.

After losing their opening match against Guru Nanak Dev University by a solitary goal, KIIT University won three games in a row to book their place in the semifinals for the first time. They defeated Bharathiar University, Coimbatore 3-2, Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal 2-1 and Lovely Professional University, Phagwara 2-1. In the semifinals, KIIT lost to ITM University, Gwalior 0-2.
