A total of five players from Odisha represented the two Indian teams in this major international hockey tournament. They were: Jyoti Chhatri, Sunelita Toppo (women team) and Amit Rohidas, Nilam Sanjeep Xess and Shilanand Lakra (men team).
Harmanpreet Singh and Salima Tete led the Indian men and women teams with Hardik Singh and Navneet Kaur as vice-captains respectively. Indian men and women teams had a disappointing campaign in the previous edition of the FIH Pro League, finishing seventh and eighth respectively.
