  OCA Inter-Dist Women Cricket: Anjali, Lorence steal show

Balasore batter Anjali Singh and bowler SB Lorence stole the show in the OCA Inter District Womens Cricket Tournament (T-20 Format) today, hitting an unbeaten 136 and bagging five wickets for one run respectively in their first-phase preliminary league match against Angul at Ravenshaw Ground-1 in Cuttack today.

Riding on the superb performances of Anjali and Lorence, Balasore trounced Angul by 229 runs. Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Balangir, Sundargarh, Khordha, Bargarh and Jharsuguda registered wins in seven other matches of the day.

RESULTS (18 April 2025):

Match 17 (Adaspur Ground): Koraput 45/10 in 18.2 overs (Jahnavi Sarangi 3/2) lost to Cuttack 46/0 in 4.2 overs (Tanmayee Behera 23*) by 10 wickets. PoM: Jahnavi Sarangi.
 

Match 18 (Ravenshaw Ground-1): Khordha 56/1 in 7.3 overs (Mahima Chauhan 26*) beat Paradip 40/0 in 7 overs (Rajeswari Jena 19*) by 36 runs (DLS Method). PoM: Mahima Chauhan.

Match 19 (Ravenshaw Ground-2): Sonepur 44/1 in 10.4 overs (Annesha Nayak 16*) lost to Bargarh 56/5 in 9.3 overs (Mitali Sharma 16; Chhita Sorena 3/13) by 5 wickets (DLS Method). PoM: Mitali Sharma.

Match 20 (Sunshine Ground): Nabarangpur 11/3 in 12 overs (Nivedita John Naik 2/1) lost to Bhubaneswar 8/0 in 0.3 overs (by 10 wickets, DLS Method). PoM: Nivedita John Naik.

Match 21 (DRIEMS Ground): Sundargarh 150/0 in 20 overs (Dibya Routray 65*, Ishita Pani 53*) beat Nayagarh 42/9 in 12.4 overs (Pranjal Singh 3/1, Saloni K Ram 2/4) by 108 runs (DLS Method). PoM: Dibya Routray.

Match 22 (DRIEMS Ground): Mayurbhanj 28/8 in 20 overs (Rameswaree Naik 2/2, Muskan Suna 2/2) lost to Balangir 29/0 in 2.3 overs (Angel Raj 23*) by 10 wickets. PoM: Rameswaree Naik.

Match 23 (Ravenshaw Ground-1): Balasore 246/0 in 20 overs (Anjali Singh 136*, Subhalaxmi Sing 74*) beat Angul 17/10 in 15.4 overs (SB Lorence 5/1, Ankita Giri 2/1) by 229 runs. PoM: Anjali Singh.

Match 24 (Ravenshaw Ground-2): Puri 55/10 in 19.4 overs (Abtahi Mahanta 22; Sanjana Prajapati 3/12, Puja Yadav 2/5) lost to Jharsuguda 56/7 in 13.2 overs (Khushi Karthik 3/22, Chirashree Rout 2/8) by 3 wickets. PoM: Sanjana Prajapati.
