Odisha track & field athletes achieved outstanding success on the 13th day of the 38th National Games, bagging two gold and one silver medal at the Maharana Pratap Sports College Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand today. Bapi Hansda won one gold medal in mens 400m run, clocking 46.82 seconds.
Odisha mens 4x100m relay team, comprising Animesh Kujur, Lalu Prasad Bhoi, Dondapati Mrutyam Jayaram and Amiya Kumar Mallick, won the other gold medal with a time of 39.47 seconds. Besides winning the gold, the relay team also set a new Games Record, bettering the previous record of 39.94 seconds, established by the Services team in 2011.
