Odisha women swimmers made the State proud again by winning one gold and one bronze medal in the 38th National Games at the Indira Gandhi International Stadium Swimming Pool in Haldwani, Uttarakhand today. Odisha women 4x100m medley relay team, featuring Pratyasa Ray, Mannata Mishra, Shristi Upadhaya and Divyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan clinched the gold with a time of 4:30.09.
This was the first gold medal for Odisha in the ongoing National Games and first ever by the State swimmers in the history of the Games. It may be noted that the Odisha 4x100m medley relay team, consisting of Pratyasa Ray, Mannata Mishra, Shristi Upadhaya and Sonia Patel created history by bagging the gold medal at the 77th Senior National Aquatics Championship in Mangalore earlier on 12 September 2024.
