Odisha boy Aahaan Mishra won the doubles title at the AITA U-18 Championship SeriesTennis Tournament, which concluded at Calcutta Gymkhana Tennis Club in Kolkata today. Partnering Shounak Chatterjee of West Bengal, Aahaan emerged champion, defeating West Bengal pair of Mayand Tewari and Md Adil with a convincing score of 6-3, 6-1.
A trainee of Odisha Tennis Academy, Bhubaneswar, Aahaan missed a double crown in this all-India tournament as he went down fighting in the singles final against top seed Shounak Chatterjee of West Bengal. He finished runner-up after losing the title clash 2-6, 6-2, 5-7.
With his impressive performance, Aahaan gained 25 doubles and 20 singles AITA ranking points. Bhubaneswar boy Aahaan trains at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex, under the guidance of coach Santosh Mallik.
Aahaan has also started achieving success in international tournaments. He won his first junior international title last year, emerging doubles champion at the Asian U-14 Ranking Tournament in Kolkata.
